Universal Studios Florida OR Universal’s Islands of Adventure?

I am planning a trip with my cousins (13 and 10 year old boys) and we are only going to get a one day pass. We do not know much about the two parks so we do not know which park will give us more fun for our money. Something that is not too Six Flags-ish but also not just filled with walk through tours of movie sets. Any suggestions?

Thank you! =)

Islands of Adventure has more true thrill rides, but it is also a smaller park. Universal has more tame rides, but also has more variety, good shows, and is bigger. It’s a hard call.

The new Harry Potter area is opening at Islands of Adventure in mid-June. If you are going when it will be open, I would go to Islands of Adventure just for the sake of being able to see this brand new area.

Otherwise, I would stick to Universal Studios. There are a couple good coasters and you can definitely spend an entire day here (maybe even two). At Islands, I usually get done in half a day.
